Following launching my podcast series, I entered the BBC Young Reporter of the Year Award and was shortlisted twice!
With each time of entering the BBC Young Reporter Award, I learnt something new.
The excitement of creating my story idea, many many edits to make sure it fit the outlines, recording my submission and eventually sending it in and waiting to hear how I had got on. It was such an great experience and when I first entered, I never imagined that I would be shortlisted out of so many applicants.
It’s something that I’m really proud of and felt that with each submission, the more I could see how much I had grown and developed and learnt since the last.
Ultimately, it was disappointing that I didn’t win, however, it did cement the drive in me to pursue a career within journalism.
